A Faster way to a healthy business
"Informative, enjoyable and excellent! – I first discovered the Faster Women training when information popped up in my Facebook news feed and I’ve not looked back since.
Tina Hurley owns Aloe 2 Good Life and is an independent distributor of Forever Living, selling a range of health and nutrition products. She also trains and supports people who want to run their own home-based business.
Seeking a new challenge
Tina spent over 30 years in the corporate world of publishing before finally deciding she needed a new challenge.
“I loved my job but following the credit crunch of 2008 my job changed beyond recognition. Suddenly I was being told to make huge cost savings by closing offices and publications and making several members of my team redundant. I could see that there was a better way and I was seeking a work life balance - that is when I discovered Forever Living and started my business“
Finding Faster Women
Tina began working with Forever Living and running her business in November 2014 and joined the Faster Women in business community in January 2016.
“So far I’ve attended five sessions covering a wide range of digital topics, from search engine optimisation to online accounting.
All the sessions have been excellent and have been perfectly pitched for a business like mine. The presenters are really knowledgeable and the training always includes a great deal of personalised advice and ample time for questions along the way.
As a Forever Business owner we have great training but the regular and local sessions delivered by Faster Women and Faster Business have enabled me to become far more confident using social media and have brought my digital technology skills up to date”.
A Scheduled Social Life
“The biggest change I’ve made as a result of Faster Women training was the realisation that I needed to schedule my social media posts.
It may sound simple but this has made such a positive impact as it’s been a great time saver. Instead of scratching my head and thinking, what shall I post next?” I now plan my posts on a fortnightly basis.
This small change allows me to devote more time to other activities, but importantly allows me to be have a better content plan, be more targeted and importantly, feel more in control. I do this on a Sunday afternoon and it really doesn't take long once you focus on the task”.
Making the connection
“I've learnt so much and made so many new connections and a lot of new friends by attending these sessions. I've been invited into several different networking groups and it's been great spending time with other business women - everyone is so supportive and willing to share the tips and ideas that they have learnt from the various Fastershire sessions.”
The personal touch
Tina also had a free Faster Business Review with one of our expert advisors. The one to one review looks at a whole array of business IT solutions, from troubleshooting, social media, connectivity, software and hardware.
“Frances was brilliant - it was an opportunity to assess what I had learnt from the Fastershire training sessions and review how much I had applied in day to day practise.
The real benefit is how personalised the business review is, Frances even shared some tips and shortcuts in Word - I had been used to having a secretary in my previous role so I was finding letters and documents a bit of a challenge”.

Faster broadband provides an opportunity for businesses and potential entrepreneurs to take advantage of faster speeds to expand current or set-up new businesses, including home-based businesses, however the Women’s Business Council has found that for women in particular increasing digital confidence and internet know-how is key to this. Thanks to funding from the Government Equalities Office, Fastershire provided Faster Women networking opportunities, workshops and training for women to take advantage of how the internet can boost new and existing businesses.
