Superfast broadband comes to Hereford’s historic centre

Homes, shops, and businesses in Hereford’s historic centre now benefit from access to faster broadband.

New fibre cabinets have been installed as part of Fastershire rollout with Openreach providing access to properties along Bridge Street, King Street and around the Cathedral

Much of Hereford had been fibre enabled commercially by Openreach, and Fastershire’s funded rollout has helped the remaining 2,200 harder to reach homes and businesses in the city benefit from superfast fibre broadband.

Over 93% of Herefordshire properties can access a superfast connection of 30mbps or greater, according to ThinkBroadband’s figures, with over 30% mainly in rural areas able to access a gigabit capable full fibre connection, well above the national average of only 21%.
